Join us for Canada 150 Celebrations!

Come join us on Saturday, July 1 to celebrate Canada 150 with free events throughout the city. This exciting day will start off early with a Sunrise Event and Wake Up the Nation Breakfast at Signal Hill followed by a full afternoon and evening of celebrations at Quidi Vidi Lake. Family Fun Day featuring live entertainment will begin at 2 p.m. at King George V Park, and a concert featuring - The Sheepdogs, The Novaks and Mallory Johnson - begins at 6 p.m. at the Dominion Memorial Market parking lot on Lake Avenue. Keeping with tradition, the day will wrap up with a fireworks display at 10 p.m.

“The Canada 150 festivities in St. John's will have something for everyone and we are very excited to provide accessible and culturally rich programming for all ages and interests on this special occasion," says Mayor Dennis O'Keefe. "On behalf of City Council, I encourage all residents and visitors to join us throughout the day as we celebrate our Canadian pride together. I thank the Government of Canada for funding this important community event.”

Canada 150 celebration events have been made possible by funding from the Government of Canada. The City of St. John’s received $250,000 through the Canada 150 Fund for this enhanced event.
