The City of St. John’s values the contributions of its volunteers and the impact that they have on the community as a whole. 

In 2019, the City recognized Happy City St. John's with one of these awards. The organization has been working to make St. John's a more vibrant community by engaging and informing residents in civic issues and facilitating discussions on how to make St. John's a happier, better place to live for everyone. The volunteers of Happy City St. John's make St. John's a better place by starting conversations about city issues that lead to more informed, engaged, and happy citizens. 

Know a Deserving Volunteer?
The Building Healthy Communities Volunteer Award recognizes residents who have volunteered their time to support healthier environments within the City of St. John’s. This award recognizes volunteers who are establishing healthier environments and enhancing the community by providing residents with the opportunity to lead healthier lives.

This award is open to all ages and has three categories – youth, community group and adult-senior.

All nominees must be residents of the City of St. John’s and all achievements reflected in the nomination must be voluntary/unpaid in nature.

The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2020 and the awards will be presented at a future event.
