The City of St. John's thinks families are fantastic and provides a variety of opportunities for different types of families. Some of the programs you must pre-register and others are drop in. Many of our family activities are special events, where families of all ages can spend time 'playing' and being active together

Join us for an old fashioned easter parade with the easter bunny through beautiful Bowring Park. Wear your Easter bonnet or bunny ears and hop on through the special activity areas along the way. The parade will end with a tour of the new Bowring Park Pool House and some Easter activities and treats.

People that play together, stay together! Spend quality time with a family member or friend while learning to knit.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost includes supplies for the first two weeks.

On October 2, 2016 approximately 400 people attended Rotary "Sunshine" Park to hike the trails, try archery, hut construction, orienteering, games and sand play- all for free!

The City of St. John's Division of Recreation is recognizing National Child Day and celebrating the rights of children with activities for children and families throughout the second week of November.
Did you know there was a sundial in Bowring Park? Did you know that the Caribou Monument was a tribute to the Royal Newfoundland Regiment from World War One? On Sunday, May 1, 2016 approximately 250 people attended the Family Scavenger Hunt in Bowring Park to learn interesting facts about the park and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day.
