The City of St. John’s offers Day Camp Programs and Activity Centre Programs which provide an opportunity for children to play actively, master new skills and build new friendships in a safe environment with caring leaders. The programs we offer are designed to target the developmental needs of primary and elementary age children in a recreation setting. Our programs are based on the HIGH FIVE® philosophy and healthy child development is fostered through the following principles:

  • A Caring Adult
  • FUNdamental Movements

Day Camp and Activity Centre Programs are offered seasonally during Easter and Summer school holidays.

New Years Camp

Kick off the new year by getting active in our New Year's Camp! Activities include games, swimming, arts and crafts, sports and lots of fun! Registration begins December 7, 2017.

Janaury 2 to 5, 2018
Tuesday to Friday
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ages:  5 to 12 years
Cost:  $90

Easter Camp

Day Camp Programs
Our Summer Camps will keep your children active and participating in games, swimming, off site trips, sports and outdoor fun! Camps begin July 3 and ends August 31, 2018.
Camp Discovery is designed for children ages 6 to 8 (Grades 1 to 3); Camp Explore for 9 to 12 years (Grades 4 to 6) and Camp Adventure is a new combined program for grades 1 to 6 or ages 6 to 12 years-old. 
Children must have completed Kindergarten. Bus available for Rotary 'Sunshine' Park camps only.

Camp Adventure - Bowing Park

Explore Leadership Program
Be the next leader in your community. Develop leadership skills, confidence, and planning skills to learn that sharing your time and talents can benefit your community for ages 10-12 years.

Explore Art 

Explore your artistic ability by joining us for a creative week of hands on activities such as painting, sketching, origami, jewerly making and much more for ages 10 to 12 years.

 

Activity Centre Programs
Activity Centre Programs will keep your children active and participating in games, sports and active outdoor fun.  Our programs are based on the High Five Philosophy and Healthy Child Development is fostered through the following principles: Participation, Play, Mastery, Friends, A Caring Adult and FUNamental Movements. Programs run weekdays from 8:30 a.m to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m for ages 6 to 12 years.  No lunch time supervision.

  • Larch Park (Drop Off/Pick Up at Rennies River Elementary)
  • Spruce Meadows Park (Drop Off/Pick Up at Macdonald Drive Elementary)
  • Cowan Park (Drop Off/Pick Up at St. Matthew's Elementary)
