Inspection Services Fees and Rates

Permit/License Type Fee
Building and Demolition Permits
For all buildings; new construction, additions, alterations, renovations, repairs, including accessory buildings and miscellaneous structures.
A $50 application fee will be required for all building applications.  This non-refundable fee will be deducted from the permit cost when the permit is obtained.
Note: Estimates, signed by your contractor, are to be provided indicating the breakdown of construction value, not including HST. Separate permits are required for electrical and plumbing and are required to be shown separately. If upon completion of the project ,the value changes, revised estimates will be required and permits will be adjusted accordingly.
Estimated construction value up to $100,000 $9 per $1,000 of construction value Minimum Permit: $50
Estimated construction value over $100,000 $9 per $1,000 of first $100,000; $7.20 per $1,000 for every $1,000 after
For One & Two Family Dwellings the construction value is currently estimated at $1,300 per sq. metre for main area ($650 per sq. metre for attached garage and/or finished basement)

Note:  Maximum number of building inspections permitted for a Single Family Dwelling is Eight, after which a $200 fee will be imposed for each additional inspection as determined by Inspection Services.
Fees for plumbing and electrical are separate costs and must be paid in addition to the above.
