The on-street parking ban remains in effect until further notice. The ban is lifted when conditions are favourable which often occurs in early April, but not always.

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, the City of St. John’s has remounted the Twinning Lines exhibit, part of the City’s Civic Art Collection, in the Great Hall of City Hall.

The City of St. John's is a vibrant place to live, work and play. The City is pleased to offer a wide variety of services to our residents. In this section of the website you will find everything from animal adoption to information on the water you drink to our wide variety of recreational opportunities.  When you think of a municipality some of the most common services that may come to mind include garbage collection, water and sewer services, or roads. But the City of St. John's offers much more than the basic municipal services, have a look and find out why St. John's is such a great place to live and raise a family.

Over 90 athletes, coaches, managers and Canada Games mission staff will attend the Canada Games 50th Anniversary Flag Relay and flag raising event at 4 p.m. in front of City Hall.
Residents are reminded that garbage put out at the curb for collection must be completely covered from April 1 through November 30.
Two parks in the City of St. John's, Bannerman Park and Bowring Park, received the honour of a ‘Canada 150 Garden Experience’ designation, awarded by the Canadian Garden Council.
