Canadian gardening and its many possibilities will be highlighted in a special presentation featuring well-known gardening expert, Owen Reeves, on Sunday, May 7 at 2 pm to support the great work of MUN Botanical Garden. Come be part of this fun interactive event which will also include a photo booth and gifts from BIOMAX® CQA-certified Composts!

 

This event, created through a partnership between The Compost Council of Canada and select botanical gardens across the country, promises to both entertain and inspire gardeners – whether first time or seasoned. Tickets are $10 and may be ordered in advance by visiting www.compost.org. Proceeds from the event will help support MUN Botanical Garden.

Owen Reeves:
With a knack for growing plants and keeping them healthy, Owen Reeves turned his lifelong passion for gardening into a full-time career. He discovered his green thumb at an early age and shares his environmentally conscious and organic landscaping tips with viewers across the country as the outdoor and gardening expert on CTV's The Marilyn Denis Show.

 

International Compost Awareness Week & The Compost Council of Canada:
This presentation is hosted by the Compost Council of Canada and kicks off International Compost Awareness Week (May 7 – 13), an annual event for over 20 years which brings awareness to the important role that organics recycling and compost use plays to address a broad range of environmental and local job issues including waste diversion, greenhouse gas reductions, water conservation and healthy, productive soils. The Compost Council of Canada is a national non-profit, member-driven organization with a charter to advocate and advance organics residuals recycling and compost use.
