If you are just repairing your fence or deck, you need a repair permit. Repair permits are issued when minor work is being carried out without any structural changes taking place. They can sometimes be issued right away but could take two to five days.

Apply for a building permit

In addition to a completed application, you will need to include the right checklist:

• deck checklist
• fence checklist
• pool checklist

The checklist includes all the documents you must submit with your application.

• A legal survey of the property so we can see where the work is being done.
• A detailed structural drawing that shows height, type of material to be used, etc.
• An estimate of the cost of work to determine the permit cost.

Permits can sometimes be issued right away but could take five to ten working days.
